Worthington Acres Alpaca Farm & Fiber Mill is partnered with Harvest Moon Hollow Alpacas operating the Unityville Country Store.

We have an on site fiber processing facility at Worthington Acres Alpaca farm which is located only 1 mile from the Unityville Country Store.

Farm tours to view over 100 alpacas and our cottage industry fiber mill are offered by appointment. Call 570-458-6789 to schedule. Fees may apply depending on group size.

A great day trip idea is to visit the farm, mill and country store. Not far from us is Benton with many antique shops. Make it a weekend and hike the trails at Rickets Glen State Park. Benton also boast a selection of B & B or hotels are close by in Bloomsburg.

Our pricing is simple. To the right are the charges applied to process your fiber . The only extras you may be charged is for excessively dirty fiber. Processing is charged for outgoing weight. Shipping is on each order, skirting charges depend on you. We recommend you get your hand in your fiber and pick all the debris out that you do not want in the finished product.

**we average 5 -10 pair per pound depending on the size and fiber quality. You can request your waste fiber be returned. The felt scraps are easy to bag and sell for needle felting projects. If you do not request your wast it won't be included.  

** FeltPAC inserts can be made from any grade of fiber. The better the fiber the softer the insoles however the most common grade sent for processing FeltPAC is above grade 3.

Fiber Processing Details:

• Excessively dirty, unskirted fiber with excessive debris $25/hr. skirting fee
• Shipping cost applied per order

• raw fiber to roving or batting or clouds - $18 per pound outgoing weight.
• raw fiber to pencil rovings. Includes 1 pass through the draw frame. $20 per pound outgoing weight

** rovings are shipped in bumps - weight of each depends a lot on the fiber however most bumps range between 4.5 and 6 oz.

• raw fiber to felt fabric - $20 per pound outgoing weight

** our mill uses a 48" FeltLOOM™ machine that tightly compacts the felt using a dry needle felt method. Standard sheets are 4' x 4'.

• raw fiber to yarn - $27 per pound outgoing weight

** standard yarn is 2 ply or 3 ply worsted weight. Skeins are made to 200 yards.

• Blending of other fibers is free with customer supplied blending fiber
